Ianna O. Richardson is an Associate at Southworth PC. Her work focuses on representing former and current federal employees before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Merit Systems Protection Board, and Office of Federal Operations. She prosecutes discrimination, harassment, retaliation and whistleblowing cases, while also defending federal careers.
Ms. Richardson is eager to help those who have experienced adverse employment action at the hands of their employers. She is a woman of integrity, someone you can trust, and committed to her work and those she works with.
Ms. Richardson graduated from Ohio Northern University. As former president of the Christian Legal Society, Ms. Richardson provided an invocation prayer at graduation to encourage her classmates as they embarked on their new journey as attorneys. She reminded us what an honor it is to be officers of the court and stewards of justice. She does not boast any special awards or scholarships, just hard work, dedication, and a willingness to serve others. During law school, Ms. Richardson provided over 50 hours of pro bono service between her time as a Certified Legal Intern with Cuyahoga County’s Department of Law and Lima Municipal Court’s prosecutor’s office. She also volunteered her time at the Hardin County Common Pleas Court working for Magistrate Maria Santo to help indigent clients with their domestic relations cases. Ms. Richardson’s favorite courses in law school included employment discrimination and labor law, and she later served as a Research Assistant for a Labor Law Practicum.
If you are wondering how this New Jersey native found her way to the Peach state by way of Ohio, please note that Ms. Richardson is also a graduate of Georgia State University, the real GSU. This is where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a minor in Sociology, and her sense of purpose. When she’s not diligently representing clients, Ms. Richardson enjoys cooking for her friends and family, reading a good book, biking through beautiful parks, and traveling near and far.
