Traci McCoy

Traci McCoy is a dedicated attorney who was born and raised in Northern Virginia. From an early age, she developed a strong interest in the legal field, which guided her academic and professional pursuits. She earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Virginia State University before going on to attend Albany Law School in Albany, New York, where she received her Juris Doctor.

Following law school, Traci was admitted to the New York State Bar and began her legal career in private practice, working in both New York City and San Diego, California. These experiences provided her with a broad foundation in litigation and exposure to diverse legal environments before she ultimately returned to Northern Virginia to continue her career.

Upon her return, Traci served in the federal government for nearly a decade, most recently as an attorney with the Department of Justice. In this role, she handled complex employment matters before the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, building extensive experience in federal employment law and trial litigation.

Traci is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and New York, and she is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States—an achievement that reflects her high level of professional qualification and commitment to the legal profession.

She brings to Southworth PC a wealth of legal knowledge, strong litigation skills, and a deep understanding of federal employment matters. Known for her strategic thinking and effective advocacy, Traci is committed to delivering thoughtful, results-driven representation. She values collaboration and takes pride in being a reliable and impactful member of her team.

Outside of her legal practice, Traci enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her husband and children, and values opportunities to relax and engage in meaningful activities together.
