Federal employment attorneys Georgia Lawrence and Shaun Southworth won another hearing recently.
After a two-day hearing before the Equal Employment Opporunity Commission, an administrative judge informed the parties that there would be a finding of liability against the Agency. In the case, the client brought claims she was terminated based on sex, disability, and retaliation after turning down a supervisor’s advances. She also alleged the termination was wrongful because it was based on her status a veteran with a disability.
“We appreciate the opporunity to help people recover for injustices. We cannot help everyone, but we are happy to help everyone we can. One area where we see a lot of cases in the area of disability discrimination with federal agencies not accommodating employees despite being required by regulation to be a model employer for employees with disabilities,” said Managing Partner Shaun Southworth.
